CARBON (single) AVAILABLE 3.11.2026
After some trying years, two hand surgeries, and a lot of life lived in those ‘in-betweens’… this is the first song I’ve recorded and produced entirely in my own studio. What with the pandemic, the loss of my mom, these personal health struggles, and the everyday wear and tear of a musician’s life… I’m incredibly proud of myself for undertaking such an endeavor. I’m proud of me for showing up to the occasion of creation… it’s something I love to do and I’m grateful to have been able to use this downtime in hand recovery for something tangible. I’m grateful to have music to focus my tireless brain, and for absorbing my eruptions of self-expression. I'm very grateful to all of you souls who support me. Thank you. There's more music coming soon. Stay tuned…
Carbon is a reflective piece. A nerdy song. Cerebral and layered. A commentary on the state of our human condition as we sit at the doorstep of a new machine age. Climate, technology, artificial futures, and social division. These things aren’t going away anytime soon. Neither is the daily experience of waking up and trying to figure out where I am or where I belong in this big mess. Maybe some of your struggles feel quite similar. It’s just the world we’ve inherited and/or created.
Why carbon? Because I walk in the park and talk to myself; into my voice recorder. A riffing of ideas and vocabulary that evokes images and feelings. And at some point it's either a song or just a journal entry for that day.
All life in our known universe is made up of carbon…
Carbon is foundational.
Carbon is resilient.
Carbon survives.
With enough time and pressure exerted on it… carbon becomes something else entirely…
